- About Us
Jonathan B. Osler hails from Kentucky and Georgia but, over the years, he has made historic Virginia his home. Jon first moved to the Old Dominion to attend the University of Virginia, where he completed a BA in Foreign Affairs. He completed his Juris Doctorate at the College of William and Mary.
After law school, Jon joined Virginia’s largest trusts and estates law firm, Carrell Blanton Ferris. During his time there, Jon developed unique estate plans for his clients that included addressing estate, tax, real property, corporate, and partnership issues. Carrell Blanton Ferris quickly entrusted Jon with managing their Fredericksburg office.
Intrigued by the novel legal estate planning issues associated with digital assets, Jon left the firm to become Chief Executive Officer of Trustor, a start-up technology company based in New Mexico. This was an interesting challenge, but Jon soon realized that he missed the face-to-face client contact of his legal practice and the charms of Fredericksburg.
Jon returned to his heart’s home in Fredericksburg and started his own firm, Osler Law, located on beautiful William St. At Osler Law, Jon provides counsel to individuals and families on matters regarding preservation management and transfer of wealth, involving all aspects of the estate planning process. The firm offers design, preparation, and administration of trusts, wills, and related ancillary documents. Jon also assists business owners with day-to-day issues and long-term business succession planning.
Jon enjoys working closely with clients to identify their unique personal and financial goals. He forges relationships along the way, building trust, respect and understanding. Jon operates with a gallant openness and a hands-on approach, constructing personalized estate planning solutions and ensuring that each client’s plan is tailor-made to suit only them.
